My passion is education. My father was a public school superintendent and mom a public school teacher. They taught me I could do anything I wanted to do, and they pushed me to pursue my biggest dreams. Ironically, the one profession they strongly discouraged was education. There were several reasons, but I believe the main one was to ensure I did not limit myself to the only career I really knew. But the truth is, I've always known what I was meant to do. After college graduation, I entered corporate America. While experiencing success by worldly standards, my heart was not in it. When I no longer carried the burden of breadwinner in my family, I gave up the big paycheck (and many other perks) for bigger rewards. Rewards with no measure. Intrinsic rewards. Thank you to my former teachers, my students, my boss/principal, and obviously my parents for shaping my passion for teaching and molding me into the student advocate I am today!
